ASPIRING table tennis stars from Redlands Primary School have been nominated for the Best Sports Team in this year’s Best In Schools Awards.

The five boys Tom McIntosh, Lewis Comley, Mathew Mudd, Regan Langley and Kieron Tutter came within a whisker of winning the national title in March after scooping both county and zonal championships.

They have been nominated for all their hard work, dedication and enthusiasm when representing the school.

“The boys give up their dinner times and often train after school with their coach and teacher Steve Walker,” said Liz Langley from Sherwood Road.

“Their dedication and enthusiasm is unbelievable for boys of 10 and 11 years old and they deserve to be recognised for all the hard work that they have put in over the last few months.”

The Worksop Guardian’s Best In Schools Awards, sponsored by North Notts College, is in its second year of celebrating the shining stars of education from across the region.
