The 1st Ordsall Scout Group are ready to get cooking.

The group has received £250 from The Mansfield Building Society’s Community Support Scheme to purchase camping equipment.

It means that Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers, aged from five to 18, will be able to attend more camps and trips to different locations.

“We are extremely grateful to Mansfield Building Society for their help,” said Edward Knox, 1st Ordsall chairman.

“The award will make a significant difference to the children and young people who attend our group.”

“Some of our children are from less well of backgrounds so our camps and trips have a very beneficial effect on their personal development.”

Mansfield Building Society product manager Pete Doherty said: “It was clear from the application just how much the children and young people benefit from the group’s activities and the community support panel had no hesitation in allocating the award.”
