A MAN who died in a multi-vehicle crash on a main road in County Durham has been named as Julian Tinker from Retford.
The 41-year-old died in the collision on the A66, near Bowes on Wednesday morning.
Durham Police said the collision involved seven vehicles including a lorry.
A van driven by Mr Tinker collided with the rear of an articulated lorry which had broken down and was stationary in the nearside lane with its hazard warning lights displayed.
The A66 was closed completely for a time while an accident investigation was carried out but was fully reopened by mid-afternoon.
