residents are being urged to recycling their real Christmas tree by taking it to Worksop or Retford Household Waste Recycling Centre (HRWC) this January.
Christmas trees, along with any other green garden waste, can be recycled at the HWRCs throughout the year.
The trees are then either chipped to make paths in parks and gardens or shredded for composting.
And until 31st January, Veolia Environmental Services will donate £100 for every 50 tonnes of Christmas trees and garden waste to The Nottingham Hospitals Charity - the chosen charity of Notts County Council’s chairman.
Chairman Coun Carol Pepper said: “The Nottingham Hospitals Charity is an excellent charity and we hope to raise as much money as possible for patients of the Cystic Fibrosis Centre and their families.”
“I would urge all residents to recycle their real Christmas tree to help make a real difference.’
