GLASSES were raised to toast the achievements of Workop’s Royal British Legion at the branch’s annual dinner.

Members and volunteers gathered at the Station Hotel on Carlton Road to enjoy a special three course dinner and to reflect on the past year.

The Worksop branch raised more than £23,000 through the Poppy Appeal last year as the Royal British Legion proudly celebrated its 90th anniversary.

Bassetlaw Council chairman David Challinor opened the evening by giving a toast and thanking everyone involved in the Legion.

Chairman Brian Madden thanked everyone who attended the evening for their sterling work.

“It was a great evening - no complaints at all,” he said.
