The following people for the Worksop and Retford areas have recently appeared before the courts.

MOTORING

Daniel Witts, 24, Sennes Court, Worksop. Drove a motor vehicle, namely an Audi A3, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of in his breath, namely 63 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 mililitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. Disqualified from driving for 12 months. Fined £220. Also ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £22 victim surcharge.

Alex O’Sullivan, 25, of Burns Road, Worksop. Without the consent of the owner or lawful authority, took a conveyance, namely a Blue Ford Focus, which he then drove without a licence or insurance in place. Driving record endorsed with six points. Fined £185. Also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.

Ian Ross, 37, of Willow Avenue, Retford. Failed to comply with the indication given by a traffic sign, namely a red light traffic signal, lawfully placed on or near a road. Driving record endorsed with three points. Fined £40. Also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.

Christopher Ventress, 36, if Bridgegate Place, Retford. Drove a motor vehicle at a speed of 42mph in a 30mph zone. Driving record endorsed with four points. Fined £290. Also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £29.

Joyman Joseph, 41, of Waterslack Road, Bircotes. Drove a motor vehicle at a speed of 54mph in a 30mph zone. Driving record endorsed with six points. Fined £260. Also ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £25 victim surcharge.

Patrick Wall, 26, of Hardwick Road East, Worksop. Drove a motor vehicle whilst not wearing an adult seatbelt in conformity with regulation. Fined £60. Also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20.

James Richardson, 45, of Anston Avenue, Worksop. Drove a motor vehicle while not wearing an adult seatbelt in conformity with regulation. Fined £110. Also ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

DAMAGE

Andrew Cooper, 37, of Furnival Street, Worksop. Without lawful excuse, damaged furniture, kitchen appliances and utensils to the value of £270. Community order made with drug rehabilitation requirement. Also ordered to pay £85 in court costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

THEFT

John Rushton, 29. of No Fixed Abode. At Sainbury’s in Worksop, stole food to the value of £12.50. Committed to prison for eight weeks. Also ordered to pay £12.50 in compensation.

ASSAULT

James Mcgarrigle, 34, of Thrumpton Lane, Retford. Assaulted a woman by beating her. Committed to prison for 14 weeks. Also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115 and £75 in compensation.

OTHER

Richard Mair, 30, of Headland Avenue, Retford. Having been required by or on behalf of the chief officer of police for Nottinghamshire, failed to give information relating to the identification of a driver who was alleged to be guilty of an offence. Driving record endorsed with six points. Fined £660. Also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £66.
