A MARATHON effort for a young cancer survivor has brought out a double personal best.

Andy Gray has not only raised more than £4,000 for charity but he finished his first ever marathon in three hours 29 minutes.

Andy completed the Milton Keynes Marathon under his target time of three hours and 30 minutes.

The strategy and commissioning team leader for West Lindsey District Council was raising funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust after previously winning his battle against Hodgkins Disease while he was at school.

Andy said he was inspired by all the support he was given.

“The journey is now complete and I want to thank each and every person who has donated to such a worthy cause. I got over the finishing line with seconds to spare to beat my target, and I cannot even begin to describe how I felt.”
