Mansfield man killed in two-car collision

A 23-year-old man has been killed in a two-car collision in Mansfield this morning (Sunday, November 8).

The crash took place shortly after 10am on Abbott Road and involved a Ford Focus and a Toyota Yaris.

Shaun Keith Walker, 23, of Langford Road, Mansfield, was the driver of the Focus and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The four occupants of the Yaris have been taken to hospital.

Nottinghamshire Police is appealing for the occupants of a silver Vauxhall Astra, believed to be three-door coupe, who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.

The road remains closed between Brick Kiln Lane, at the Abbott Road Junction, and Westfield Lane, while investigation works are carried out.
