Coun David Pressley will speak at the next meeting of the Worksop Against Incineration campaign group

Bassetlaw Councillor David Pressely will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the Worksop Against Incineration (WAI) campaign group meeting on Thursday (31st July) at Rhodesia Village Hall.

Coun Pressley will be talking on the planning aspects of the proposals as set out in the attached scoping report for a proposed waste incinerator on the site of the old recycling Centre site on Shireoaks Road in Worksop, just off the A57.

A group spokesman said: “As this is a very large waste incinerator under the environmental impact assessment regulations, by law an initial scoping report has to be submitted to Notts County Council for comment before a formal application is made.”

“Worksop Against Incineration exists to inform local residents of the scoring rport and its contents, set up a petition and to develop concerns about this proposed incinerator potentially in our midst.”

“If and when an application is made hopefully by having already set up a very active group then we can mount a very effective campaign against the building of this very incinerator in Worksop.”

Please note that the meeting starts at 6.30pm and not the usual time of 7.30pm.
