Rotherham College will be taking part in an international event to celebrate the art of pinhole photography today (Friday).

Pinhole cameras takes photography back to its simplest roots.

A tiny hole replaces the lens, light passes through the hole, an image is formed in the light proof box and captured on photographic film.

Cameras are made out of everyday objects such as tin cans and boxes

Students from across the college will be taking part building their own cameras, out of cardboard boxes or even tin cans.

The event will be taking place today from 10.30am to 3pm at the college’s town centre campus.

Images will then be uploaded to the main Pinhole Day website, which collates images from across the world.
