Parents took part in a 10 week parenting programme at Dinnington Children's Centre

A GROUP of parents celebrated their success after completing a parenting programme at Dinnington Children’s Centre recently.

The Family Links Parenting Puzzle programme was run by Mary Adcock, intense family project manager of Rotherham and Barnsley Mind and Janet Allen, children’s centre family support worker.

The parents took part in the 10 week nurturing programme to give them advice and strategies to cope with the pressures of modern day life and parenting.

They covered topics including understanding and manage feelings and behaviour, improving relationships at home and in school, improving emotional health and wellbeing and develop self-confidence and self-esteem.

“These are all crucial ingredients for effective parenting and learning,” said Mary.

“All the relevant topics covered have incorporated the primary buildings blocks of self awareness, self esteem, empathy, appropriate expectations and positive discipline strategies.”

Anyone who want more information about the programme should contact Mary Adcock on 01709 334724.
