These burly blokes at The Bryndale pub in Bircotes are feeling the cold after losing their furry facial hair in a Movember charity shave-off.

Pub punters, friends and family had sponsored them to the tune of £600 to grow moustaches during the month of November.

And their hirsute efforts are clear for all to see...

But after weeks of keeping their upper lips warm, it was time to get the razor out and raise even more cash in a charity shave-off.

“It feels loads better now but I do keep reaching to stroke my moustache now it’s gone,” said Rob Johnson,53, who manages the Scrooby Road pub.

“There were a few nicks in the shaving process, blood was drawn, but everyone put on a brave face.”

That goes especially for Henry Gratton who went from being a cury-haired, moustached gent to having not a hair on his face or head.

Said Rob: “Henry went the whole hog - eyebrows, the lot. He’s a great chap who has raised a lot for charity before and will do anything to make people smile.”

It was Rob’s son Alex Challinor, 18, who came up with the idea to do November.

Said Rob: “I think for an 18-year-old to decide to do something like this is great.”

“It’s a really important cause - to raise awareness of testicular cancer - and I’m very proud of him.”

“All the lads did really well and I’d like to thank our customers and friends at The Bryndale for their support and donations.”
