Trust invites grant bids to boost mining communities

GRANTS are available from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust to boost funds for community groups.

Funding of 500 to 5,000 is available to cover the total cost of a project, or as a contribution to a larger scheme.

Projects should improve opportunities for residents of coalfield communities by preparing them for work, improving skills, or encouraging active leisure pursuits.

The application process has been kept as simple as possible – however, help and support is available from the team based at the CRT’s East Midlands office in Markham Vale.

Andrena Jenkinson, programme support officer, said: ”We are here to help groups with the application process, but we can also help them develop their ideas and make sure they apply for the maximum amount of funding.”

Most community and voluntary groups working to regenerate coalfield communities are eligible to apply for CRT funding.

To check if your group is eligible, and for more information, visit www.coalfields-regen.org.uk or contact 01925 222066.
