Trio charged over catalytic converter thefts

Three men have been charged in connection 15 catalytic converter thefts from vehicles across Notts.

Thirteen of the thefts were in Retford, Tuxford, along the A614 at Ollerton and in Nottingham. The other two offences were in Doncaster.

Benjamin Varey, 25, of Little Lane, Doncaster, John Robshaw, 20, of Grasmere Close, Leeds, and Daniel Harty, 29, previously of Hamilton Road, Doncaster, have been charged with conspiracy to steal in relation to 15 thefts of catalytic converters between April and May 2012.

The charge also includes going equipped to steal in Scunthorpe.

All three have been bailed until their appearance before Nottingham magistrates on Thursday 3rd January 2013.
