School gets £500,000 windfall

A BASSETLAW school is to get a £500,000 investment.
Ranby House School governors have announced to parents exciting plans for the development of the school over the next two years.
It is planning to further invest £500,000 in classroom development and state-of-the-art teaching equipment.
It follows the recent development of a purpose built performing arts centre and refurbishment of the chapel.
“This investment marks a significant step forward ensuring that our main teaching areas are modernised to the same high standards of our other facilities on the school campus,” said headteacher David Sibson.
The school board also announced changes to teaching in response to the increasing trend towards conventional Monday to Friday schooling.
There will be gradual phasing out of boarding and Saturday morning lessons, but governors stressed that competitive sport would continue to be played on Saturday.
Ranby House School and its senior school Worksop College are part of the Woodard School group of over 40 owned or affiliated schools across the UK.
