Scarecrow winners in Ordsall

ORDSALL father and son Gary and Adam Peel scooped first prize at the village's annual scarecrow competition after sculpting this masterpiece.

The Peels, of Wollaton Rise Ordsall, created the scary crow out of chicken wire, bits of gazebo, pipe insulation and black bin bags.

The feet were made from a pair of old diving flippers while the eyes are made from a tennis ball and the beak is an empty squash bottle.

The trophy, an original pitch fork, will be passed on to the winner of the next scarecrow festival but Gary and Adam were also given a decorated pot and daffodil bulbs to keep.

This year's Ordsall Scarecrow Competition raised more than 200 for the village hall fund.
