Recycling centre opening hours over festive period

WORKSOP and Retford’s household waste recyling centre (HWRC) will be open over the festive period as normal but will be closed on New Year’s Day.

Kevin Parker, regional communications manager for Veolia Environmental Services, said, the waste centre off Sandy Lane will be open as normal from 8am-4pm.

“A wide range of household items can be taken to the HWRCs for recycling including textiles, plastic bottles, glass bottles and jars, metals, food and drinks cans, car and household batteries, paper and cardboard, garden waste, chipboard, wood and timber, soil and rubble, used engine oil, large and small appliances, fridges and freezers, fluorescent tubes, low energy light bulbs, TVs and monitors,” he said.
