Online crime on increase

POLICE officers in South Yorkshire investigated 27 reports of crimes involving Facebook and Twitter in 2012 – resulting in seven charges being brought.

Figures nationally show complaints have increased 780 per cent over four years, resulting in more than 650 people being charged this year by 29 forces.
