Huge haul of dance medals

BUDDING dancers scooped 105 medals at the Retford Stage Festival with individual and group success.

A team of about 50 dancers from the DeBurnay Dance School impressed the judges in the competition.

”We were absolutely over the moon with how everyone did,” said Wendy DeBurnay, who runs the dance school.

”We are really proud of what they achieved. It’s the first time we’ve entered this competition and they’ve done really well.”

Dancer Shelby White gained first place with the Junior Bursary Award and Emily Stevens won first place with the Senior Bursary Award.

Both gained the highest overall mark in their section and Emily also earned praise as the ‘most technical dancer’.

Anyone who wants to learn more about taking classes with the dance school on Wharf Road can call 01777 710006.
