Snow is forecast in Notts tonight (Thursday 21st March) and over the coming weekend, sending the council’s gritting teams into action again.

Notts County Council’s highways team is monitoring the situation and expects to have its gritters out by midnight.

Sleet and snow showers are predicted for around midnight after an evening of rain, expected to continue into Friday.

From 6am on Friday the day shift will continue gritting in preparation for the rush hour, and if necessary throughout the day.

All A and B routes will be salted as well as the main bus routes.

The council has 23 gritting vehicles each covering a route which takes three to four hours.
