RYTON Park pupils had a taste of South America when the school hosted a special visit from their link school in Peru.

Alexander Sandoval, who works at Ryton Park’s link school Colegio Inmaculada in Lima, Peru, visted the Worksop primary school along with wife Kathia who is a qualified pre-school teacher.

The two schools have enjoyed continuous working links for three years and have regular classrom linking through pen pals, email and Skype sessions with classes.

A school spokesman said: “The international school linking project is a valuable experience for the children to develop first-hand knowledge of each country and have a practical reason for use of their bilingual skills.”
