Farm weekend at Bassetlaw Museum
See living and breathing rural heritage first hand during a special farm festival at Retford's Bassetlaw Museum.
The festival is taking place this weekend, 27th and 28th June, and families are encouraged to come along.
"The farm festival is a good example of how the museum is trying to be a living, breathing custodian of our local heritage," said Coun Keith Isard, cabinet member for community prosperity at Bassetlaw Council.
"Building on the great success of our previous farm festivals this year's aims to give the whole family an educational experience they will remember for a long time."
There will be host of demonstrations of rural crafts like woodcraft, hedgelaying, rag rug making, pottery, a blacksmith, cane chair, corn dolly and willow basket making, boat building and a pole lathe.
Also on display will be a Robey traction engine, a Gypsy caravan, vintage cars and motorcycles and a vintage bus giving rides.
Exhibitions of impressionist paintings, watercolours, needlework, soft toys and puppets and by the Butterfly Conservation Trust and the Notts Wildlife Trust will also feature.
