A TAKEAWAY proved costly for a Bircotes man at Worksop Magistrates’ Court last week.

Jason Hesslewood, 32, of Scrooby Road, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour on 1st November.

The court heard he lost his phone while out drinking. He went back to a takeaway on Grove Street, Retford, to see if it was there.

Prosecutor Kate Beardmore said he shouted and swore at staff.

Ian Pridham, defending, said staff ‘blanked’ him when he asked about the phone and his reaction was ‘completely out of character’.

Hesslewood was fined £100 and has to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
