HALLOWEEN turned horrid for a Worksop teen who was found hiding in a bush after crashing his car.

Joshua Sweetnam, 19, of Gibson Court, admitted drink driving at Worksop Magistrates Court.

The court heard how police were called to a car crash on the B6045 Blyth Road on 26th October.

When officers arrived, Sweetnam emerged from bushes and said he had swerved to avoid an oncoming car. A breath test found him over the limit.

Defending, David Verity said Sweetnam had been drinking at a Halloween party but thought he was ‘okay to drive home’. He said: “It was a mistake on his part.”

Sweetnam was banned for 14 months and fined a total of £120.
