Day services to continue

Gainsborough news

ADULT day service users in Lincolnshire have received a reassuring boost that services in underused buildings can continue, thanks to a recommended transfer to other nearby centres.

Meanwhile, groups and businesses are continuing to express interest in taking services over in the longer-term.

With 90 per cent of eligible older and disabled people now enjoying the freedom of spending personal budgets, seven day centres in the county are operating with only a handful of users and standing unused for hours and even days every week.

It is proposed that the merging day services will happen with effect from 2nd April 2013.
