Charity climbers need your support for Snowdon ascent

A MANSFIELD woman leading a team of fundraisers up Mount Snowdon next Wednesday is appealing for more people to sponsor their charity climb.

Maria Tucker and four others hope to raise as much funds as possible for the Parents Association for Seriously Ill Children (PASIC) – a charity which helps local children as they fight cancer, leukaemia and brain tumours.

Already this year Maria has staged a day-long music fest in Mansfield to raise awareness of the charity and now she wants Chad readers to back their ascent of the highest mountain in Wales on 22nd July.

Maria said: "I feel that it so important that the people and local busineses of Mansfield back what is a fantastic charity, full of warm, caring family members.

"They strive to provide fun packed activities and trips to over 650 children in the region, so that the children get much needed time away from the hospital environment and out enjoying life for what it really is!

"I am not the world's most fit person, but think that this charity deserves to be on the map right at the top of Mount Snowdon! I am asking for everyone to support PASIC and sponsor our event (every penny counts)!"

Others taking part in the climb are Tracy Turner, Matt Walsh, Andy Roberts and Ava Cann.

PASIC provides support for the parents and families of children suffering from leukaemia and cancers across the area. More information on the charity, supported by Chad readers through annual Easter egg and Christmas selection box appeals, can be found at www.pasic.org.uk

To sponsor the climbers, go to the website www.justgiving.com/pasicmountsnowdon or you pop into Roots hairdressing salon at 3 Toothill Lane, Mansfield, or the The Town Mill at Bridge Street and fill in a sponsorship form.
