Bawtry woman killed in HGV collision

AN 80-year-old woman was killed when she was hit by a lorry in Bawtry on Friday afternoon.

A heavy goods vehicle travelling in the direction of Blyth, driven by a 46-year-old Notts man, collided with the local woman at 3.10pm on the town's High Street.

The road was closed for nearly five hours following the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the HGV being driven prior to the incident, is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 0114 220 2970.
