For their next production, which will run from 15th to 18th February in Everton Village Hall, the Village Players will be presenting four one act plays from Alan Bennett’s acclaimed Talking Heads series.
The plays all tell different stories from the lives of four characters.
Bennett excels in these sensitively drawn works, each painting a picture where the audience can see significance in the words of the story tellers they themselves are not always aware of.
All bring a blend of humour and pathos that make for an evening that is both entertaining and thought provoking.
The plays will be: A Chip in the Sugar, A Cream Cracker Under the Settee, Her Big Chance and A Lady of Letters.
Players Chairman David Bardsley said: “On the casting evening we saw such good performances that we really wanted to put on four plays, but there was only really time for three. The solution was to put on three of the four plays on each evening of the four day run.”
“Details of which plays are on which evening are on our web site, or can be obtained from our box office”
Tickets are priced at £5 and £4 (students) and can be ordered by phone from the Players’ box office on (01777) 817275 or via their web site: www.evplayers.org.uk..
