Thurcroft Post Office could be moving to a new location to create a modern open-plan local-style branch with extended opening hours and the Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a six-week public consultation.

The proposed new location is GT News in Green Arbour Road, Thurcroft.

If you would like to comment on the proposals you can email comments@postoffice.co.uk, call the Customer Helpline on 03457 22 33 44 or the Textphone on 03457 22 33 55. The consultation ends on July 19.

Should the move go ahead, the branch would open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 1pm on Sunday, this would be 19 hours a week more than are currently offered.

The proposed move is part of major modernisation programme across the Post Office network designed to make it easier for customers to do business, through longer opening hours and modern open plan environments.

Post Office Regional Manager, Suzanne Richardson, said: “This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office.”
