Pop art pioneer Sir Peter Blake is in the inspiration behind a series of free primary school workshops exploring the art of collage on offer at The Harley Gallery.

The workshops will focus on aesthetic awareness in relation to colour, texture, pattern, shape and structure and explore what a collage is.

Children will experiment with different surfaces and create their own Peter Blake inspired collage, which can be taken home. The free workshops will take place on 10, 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19 May 2016 from 10am-2pm.

Sir Peter Blake is renowned for his collages and is probably best known as the creator of the iconic Beatles album cover for Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

His work is currently on display at The Harley Gallery as part of The Grand Tour Season Two until June 5.
