A piano performance which would grace the stage of major UK concert halls, comes to Worksop next weekend in an addition to the Music @ The Crossing programme.
The concert at Newcastle Street venue The Crossing on Saturday 27th April brings four hands and solo repertoire together via the magical fingers of local favourite, international concert pianist Benjamin Frith and piano recitalist and composer Heidi Rolfe.
The four hands arrangements, played on The Crossing’s superb Bechstein concert grand piano, feature the music of Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Brahms, Schubert, Chabrier and Weber, while Heidi plays Tchaikovsky and Poulenc as solos and Benjamin plays Rachmaninov and Brahms.
Anston-based Frith has performed all over the world with many of the finest orchestras including the Berlin Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, the Hallé, and the BBC orchestras.
Bristol-born Heidi Rolfe graduated from Huddersfield University with a Masters degree in piano performance. She studied with Sally Ann McLeod (nee Bottomley) and has developed a varied repertoire.
