MALTBY Academy has had a special visit from the Mayor of Rotherham.

Coun Shaun Wright and Mayoress Lisa Wrigith visited the school to collect a cheque which pupils had raised.

Pupils at the school took part in a non-uniform day in December last year which raised £483.29.

The money will go to the Mayor of Rotherham’s charity.

During their visit the mayor and his wife met with members of the senior leadership team and MA students.

They said they were very grateful to the students for the money they had raised.
