Derbyshire: Residents to ask council questions

The public are to be allowed to ask questions in Derbyshire County Council’s cabinet meetings.

Previously, residents were only able to question cabinet members at five annual meetings of the full council.

Council leader, Councillor Anne Western said: “We want residents to feel they have a voice within the council and have a two-way conversation with us.

“We’re very keen that local people can be actively involved in the decision-making process and this is just one of the ways we’ll achieve that.”
