A PATIENT at Rampton Hospital has been fined for biting a nursing assistant.

Charlotte Swain, 21, admitted assaulting the woman at the hospital on 12th April.

Magistrates in Worksop heard that several members of staff were trying to restrain Swain on the floor when she bit one of them above the knee.

In mitigation, the court was told that Swain was a very troubled young woman who had been in the hospital for nine months.

She was fined £50 and ordered to pay £100 in compensation.
