A WORKSOP man has been fined for possession of cannabis.

Ashby Espin, 21, of The Croft, Worksop, admitted possession of the Class B drug at Worksop Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The court heard that police executed a search warrant at his home and found a small amount of the drug on 15th March.

David Verity, defending, told the court Espin was doing his ‘level best’ to keep himself out of trouble.

“It’s a shame he finds himself in court because he is trying to turn his life around,” he added.

Espin was fined £100, and ordered to pay £40 costs. The magistrates also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
