COLLEGIUM Regale is making a highly anticipated return to Retford in April.
The close harmony group made up of the choral scholars of the Choir of Kings College, Cambridge are performing at St Swithun’s Church on Friday 8th April.
The choir is most famous for the broadcasts of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on BBC TV and radio each Christmas – reaching an estimated 130 million people worldwide each year.
Collegium Regale functions as a separate entity from the main choir and performs regularly around Britain – splitting into two groups at Easter to tour north and south.
Building on their experience from the main choir, the group excels in performance and recording of early renaissance polyphony.
They also perform more contemporary material - from spiritual songs to Michael Jackson.
The concert at St Swithun’s Church, Cannon Square begins at 7.30pm.
Tickets costs £12 and include a glass of wine or soft drink. They can be bought from Bookworm, Spa Lane, Retford - 01777 869 224, Tourist Information Centre, Grove Street, Retford - 01777 860 780, Derek Turner - 01777 702 929 and Eileen McIvor - 01777 702 185. They are available on the door night.
