A dazzling display of fireworks wowed the crowds at Worksop Rugby Club’s annual bonfire extravaganza.
And a new event at Langold Country also attracted a good turn-out to mark Halloween and Bonfire Night.
Rain failed to dampen spirits or spark at Saturday night’s bonfire spectacle at Stubbing Lane, Worksop.
Families flocked to enjoy fairground rides, hot food and an impressive fireworks display at 8pm.
“It was good to see that despite the weather Worksop still turned out to support this important annual community event,” said organiser Matt Hardy.
Matt said that although turn-out was down on recent years, there was still a significant number of people there, which was appreciated by the organising committee at Worksop Rugby Club.
Up the road in Langold folk gathered on Sunday at Langold Country Park for a Halloween themed fun day and firework display.
During the day there was lots for kids and grown-ups alike to enjoy, including bird of prey displays, pony rides, circus workshops, children’s entertainment and facepainting.
Live music was performed on the bandstand by local bands The Suspects, We Are Southpaw, Krysys, Propellor and The Torn.
And a firework finale finished off the evening in suitably sparking style.
The event, the first of its kind, was organised by Bassetlaw Council and attracted in the region of 5,000 revellers.
