Young people aged between 16 to 18-years-olds are being targeted as part of a new traineeship and apprenticeship programme being introduced by Bolsover District Council.

The sixth month programme will give young people the chance to gain work experience, improve their skills and achieve qualifications.

Participants will be given the chance to apply for an apprenticeship with either Bolsover District or North East Derbyshire District Councils in a variety of roles including, leisure, ICT, business admin, customer services and grounds maintenance.

To be eligible participants must live in Bolsover District and not be in education, employment or training (NEET).

Bolsover District Council leader, Coun Eion Watts said: “We all know how hard jobs are to come by these days and we want to give young people a helping hand by offering them a chance to gain that all-important work experience as well as giving them the skills they need to be more confident and work ready.
