Traffic will be restricted on Bawtry Road in Blyth as engineers perform key maintenance works on the surface.

There will be a temporary 30 mph speed limit for 250 metres along the B6045 southbound, beginning at the northbound A1 slip road until 17th August.

The speed limit came into force on the morning of 28th July.

The limit will allow teams of workers from Notts County Council to carry out work repairing damaged drains on the A1 Overbridge roundabout.

The same road will be closed from 7pm-6am from 12th August while damaged kerb drains are replaced with new units.

The closure runs between the junctions with the A1 and A634 Sheffield Road.

Drivers will be forced to find alternative routes, with Notts County Council’s suggested plan taking road users along the A634 High Street, A634 Spital Road Overbridge, and using the A1 southbound to Apleyhead and then northbound to Blyth junction.

Overnight closures on Bawtry Road will stop on Saturday 17th August.

For additional information, drivers should contact David Hooton at Notts County Council on 01777 716 011.
