There is just one month to go to get your nominations in for Bassetlaw NCT’s Midwife of the Year award.

The deadline for this year’s competition is Sunday 1st September.

The award was established with support from the local Head of Midwifery at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals, and aims to recognise the hard work of local midwives who support parents and parents-to-be in the Bassetlaw area.

Sarah Whiting, branch co-ordinator for Bassetlaw NCT said: “We want as many nominations as possible from parents who have received care from our amazing local midwives.”

“We hope the competition will give us a chance to celebrate as many of them as possible and give some public recognition to the outstanding work they do.”

Nominations can be made in two categories – Community Midwife of the Year and Hospital Midwife of the Year – and can be based on care received anywhere in the Bassetlaw NCT area, which covers Worksop, Retford, Dinnington, Mansfield, Aston, Kiveton and Maltby.

Winners will receive their awards at a ceremony to be held at Worksop College later in the autumn.

Copies of the nomination form are available from all Bassetlaw NCT weekly playgroups and online at www.nct.org.uk/branches/bassetlaw/midwife-year-award.
