As Prince William and Catherine Middleton were busy enjoying their wedding reception at Buckingham Palace, residents in Retford were enjoying a party of their own.
Residents in Babworth Road in the town were out in force celebrating the Royal wedding.
The street was one of 72 across Notts closed to motorists to allow for street parties. Notts County Council had waived the road closure fees to encourage more parties to take place.
The idea to hold a street party in Babworth Road came from resident Judy Short but the whole street joined in to organise it.
There was a fairground organ and plenty of things to keep the children entertained including fancy dress, hoola hoops, a treasure hunt and other party games.
The street was transformed into a real party with all the usual cars replaced with yards of bunting, tables and chairs.
Starting at 1pm, the party ran well into the evening and was a great event for all the Babworth Road residents.
