A MICROLIGHT pilot has escaped with minor injuries after his plane crashed near Retford.
The man was the only occupant of the two-man Gamston-bound aircraft when it came down in a field in Hayton this morning.

Emergency services are currently at the scene on Burntleys Road. The pilot has been taken to Chesterfield Hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be serious.

"He was lucky to escape with such minor injuries," said a police officer at the scene.
