NOTTS Police are appealing for witnesses after a van driver was found dead at the wheel of his vehicle.
The man, who was 61 years-old and from Waddington, Lincolnshire, was found by a passing motorist at around 2pm on Thursday afternoon on Old London Road (known locally as Green Mile Lane), Retford.

The van driver had been travelling along Old London Road from Ranby towards the A638 when his vehicle, a yellow Mercedes Sprinter van, left the carriageway at low speed before coming to a halt on the grass verge. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.

A son of the victim has contacted the Guardian to say it is believed he died of a sudden heart attack.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident, which is believed to have taken place between 1.40pm and 2pm, or who has any information which may assist with the police's enquiries, to contact Pc 1091 Richard Donnelly at Ollerton Roads Policing Unit on 01636 657075.
