IF you've ever wondered what life as an RAF Armourer was really like, a new publication by former Retford and Worksop resident, Dave Jackson should be right up your street.
Entitled A - I’m an Armourer, B - I’m an Armourer, the 200 page illustrated book is an enjoyable romp through the author’s life and loves following 38 years in the service.

Born in Retford in 1942, Mr Jackson was raised and educated there and at Worksop before joining the RAF as an apprentice.

During his time in uniform, he served on 19 bases and spent 14 years overseas.

And it is his exploits at this time that form the basis of his book.

Written with an engaging candour, the book pulls no punches, no doubt telling it as it was.

So if you are easily offended, handle it with care.

On the other hand, if you enjoy a good lusty, laugh, this book could well be for you.

Now aged 65, Mr Jackson lives in Norfolk with his third wife. His hobbies include driving his sports car and his bubble car, reading and gardening.

A - I’m an Armourer, B - I’m an Armourer is priced at £9.95 and is published by Blenheim Press Ltd, 35 Market Place, St Albans, Herts AL3 5DL.
