Things to do this Halloween in Gainsborough

FRIGHTENINGLY good fun can be had around Gainsborough to celebrate Halloween this month.

You can head over to Richmond Park on Saturday 27th October from 4-6pm for ‘Halloween in the Park, where families can enjoy a kids’ fancy dress competition, a pumpkin-carving contest, hot food, games, tombola, face-painting, as well as lantern making, live music, a parade and much more.

Then, on Tuesday 30th October, the cells of the former police station at Gainsborough’s Old Nick Theatre will play host to tarot card readings.

Readings are £10 each and available by appointment only.

This is strictly for those aged over 18 and to book, you can call 01427 810616.

Then on Wednesday 31st October, the Old Nick will be hosting ‘Food and Frights’.

Head along for horror stories and tour of the theatre and buffet starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10.

You can also view a late night horror film at 11.30pm for £5.

Over at Marshall’s Yard on 31st October, there will be spooky food and craft stalls available from 12pm, as well as face painting before the event kicks off with a falconry display and a pumpkin design workshop managed by GAPA. Organisers have lined up children’s rides and fire show to be carried out on stage at 7pm. Free horse and carriage rides will also run throughout the night.

From 4pm there will be a full programme of live music, stilt walking and The Wendy Foster School of Dance will be carrying out a rendition of the famous Michael Jackson Thriller dance.

And don’t forget the Yard’s very own Halloween competitions where judges will be on the lookout for the best fancy dress costumes.
