Impromptu restaurants are the ‘in’ thing, with eateries appearing everywhere from museums to empty shops. But Sheffield is set to play host to a pop-up with a difference…
Next weekend farmland at Stannington will be transformed into a gourmet playground – under canvas – as three local businesses join forces to stage a pop-up restaurant in a teepee.
The four-day extravaganza is being masterminded by conference and events venue Green Directions; tent hire specialist Totally Tipi; and chef James Barrett, who runs a bistro, a café and an outside catering business in Sheffield.
They are planning a long weekend of events starting with a charity dinner on Thursday, June 27, in aid of Kids ‘n’ Cancer UK.
Friday and Saturday nights both feature a three-course dinner (tickets £35). On Saturday lunchtime James will be giving a cookery demonstration with lunch (£17.50) and on Sunday there’s a wedding fair and an informal barbecue with live folk music.
