High pitched comedian comes to the Majestic

RETFORD Majestic is about to get a dose of sillyness as household comedian Joe Pasquale makes his debut in the town.

The much-loved comedian will be entertaining fans with his comic talents, and an added dash of mind-reading, when he appears at the Majestic Theatre on Saturday 10th October.

Speaking to the Guardian earlier this week, Joe revealed the show would be host to various different stunts, including a mystical spot of mind-reading in the guise of Nostradamus.

“I’ll be doing a bit of mind-reading, and as you watch it you’ll be thinking how does he do that?” he said. “It’s not like Derren Brown predicting the lottery, this is proper mind-reading.”

“I also do a bit of singing, a bit of magic and it changes on a night-to-night basis because you never know what the audience are going to do.”

Backed up by juggler and fire eater Steve Horlicks, Joe’s act is set to appeal to entire families and promises to raise a few chuckles without being too cerebral.

“There are a lot of comics touring out there but there’s not many doing stuff that is accessible to the whole family, from five years old to 95 years old,” he said. “It’s just a ridiculous couple of hours, but it’s great fun.”

“So if you’ve got a good couple of hours and want to leave your brains behind, the Majestic’s the place to come to.”

“I’ve never been to Retford before so I’ve no idea what to expect, but the further north you get, the better the audiences tend to be.”

Following the tour, Joe have a guest spot on Mastermind (though it’s unlikely the show will accept his specialist subject of Spongebob Squarepants), before getting stuck into the panto season to star in Sleeping Beauty at the Birmingham Hippodrome in December, alongside Dancing On Ice champ Ray Quinn.

Joe performs at the Majestic from 7pm, and tickets are priced at 17. To book tickets for the event, phone the box office on 01777 706866.
