FABULOUS Arts in Bassetlaw is in full swing and the Guardian can offer you a sneak peek of what to expect over the coming weeks.
Thursday 9th July
Wet Felt Making. The Craft Shop, Retford. 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
Learn the basic techniques for 'wet' felt making and make a piece of felt that can be sewn to make a small bag, phone carrier or purse tidy to make a pretty flower corsage.
Entry to the drop-in workshop priced at £3.50.
Friday 10th July
Jewellery Making. The Craft Shop, Retford. 10.30am to 4.30pm.
Come along to The Craft Shop and learn basic jewellery-making techniques to make yourself a pair of earrings, a bracelet or a necklace using a variety of beautiful and colourful beads. Suitable for all ages.
Admission cost is based on the kind of jewellery you make, and ranges from £2.50 to £6 per person, and can be booked by phoning organiser Diane Hemsley on 01777 705433.
The MOB present West Side Story. Retford Majestic Theatre. Friday and Saturday, 7.30pm, plus Saturday matinee performance at 2.30pm.
Following last year's performances of Les Miserables, The Mob return with another classical musical show, West Side Story.
Tickets cost £6-7 and can be booked in person at the box office, or by phone on 01777 706866.
Saturday 11th July
Art Exhibition. All Saint's Church, Misterton. 12pm to 4pm. Saturday and Sunday.
The event is sponsored by MAP. The exhbition will showcase local artists' work. Classes and will also be offered to schools and groups.
Free admission.
StreetCheer. Retford Gymnastics Club, Torworth. 10.30-11.30am (6-10 years), 11.30-12.30pm (11-16 years).
StreetCheer is a brand new element of cheerleading; a unique fusion of street dance and cheerleading moves. You'll find the funkiest, most up-to-date dance moves, combined with cheerleading chants and cheers.

Ceramics Workshop. Bassetlaw Museum, 10am to 12.45pm.
Learn to throw pots on a pottery wheel from a local professional ceramic artist, Richard Rogers. Something for all the family.
Free admission.
Black Umfolosi 5. The Acorn Theatre, Worksop. 7.30pm.
Following last year's sell-out concert, Black Umfolosi 5 return to the Acorn for one night only. A chance to see the world-famous Zimbabwe singers perform their spectacular songs and dances that thrill audiences.

Sunday 12th July
Live Acoustic Music. Retford Market Square. 12pm to 3pm.
Joshua Meek learnt to play guitar in Nicaragua. His music is influenced by Paul Weller. Joshua is currently working on an album and looking for local gigs. He also crafts hand made guitars.
Free admission.
Tuesday 14th July
Open Mic. Bar Xcetra. 7pm to 10pm.
Live music from local artists. Featured artists: The Steve French Band playing the Blues. Unique girl band and Joshua Meek on acoustic guitar to name a few.

Friday 17th July
Design an Eco Bag/T-Shirt. The Craft Shop, Retford. 10.30am to 11.30am.
Aimed at under 5s and parents/carers must stay. Siblings are welcome. Create a unique transfer dyed bag/T-shirt. use transfer dyes to stamp or paint a picture that can be iron transferred onto a bag or T-shirt.
Entry priced at £2.50, no ticket required.
