EXPERIENCE one of the world's most explosive Irish dance phenomena next month when Magic of the Dance comes to the Sheffield Lyceum Theatre from Thursday 3rd to Saturday 5th July.
Leading up to its 10th anniversary, this global smash-hit takes Irish dancing to new heights with new choreography and explosive special effects.

Organisers say the tapping in this show is so powerful that for the first time ever, audiences will witness a dancer’s shoes burst into flames live on stage!

A spokesman for the show said: ”Magic of the Dance has developed the Irish dance genre into a complete theatre experience for families and dance enthusiasts alike, audiences are taken on a rollercoaster ride of comedy, tragedy, magic and romance.”

The show is a captivating love story of good versus evil, set in a famine-stricken Ireland, which organisers say is delivered through breathtaking dance routines.

It promises to feature a selection of more Irish dance world champions than any other show, including world champion and Broadway star Suzanne Cleary and two times world champion Dermot Cullen alongside Ciaran Maguire and original cast member, Collette Dunne.

The innovative choreography by eight-time World Champion John Carey guarantees to accompany a gripping storyline, narrated by screen legend Christopher Lee (Star Wars, Lord of the Rings).

It has been performed across the globe for the past 10 years, in such cities as Paris, Vienna, Barcelona, Oslo, Rio de Janeiro, Taipei, Toronto and Reno.

For its 10th anniversary year, and its fifth consecutive UK tour, the show has been restyled with new choreography, new costumes and new special effects, which should bring a polished West End production to each city it visits.

Tickets for the performances, which run from Thursday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with an additional performance on Friday at 2.30pm, are priced £16-£22.50 – concessions available.

The Guide has teamed up with Sheffield Lyceum to offer one lucky reader a pair of tickets to see the show at 7.30pm on Friday 4th July.

To be in with a chance of winning the tickets simply answer the following question.

Q) Name two films in which screen legend Christopher Lee has starred.

Mark your answer ‘Magic of the Dance competition competition’ and email your entry to competitions@worksop-guardian.co.uk or send it by post to The Worksop Guardian, 21-27 Ryton Street, Worksop, Notts S80 2AY.
