A TALE of adventure and friendship by celebrated author Jacqueline Wilson comes to life at Sheffield Lyceum Theatre from Wednesday 21st until Saturday 24th May.
Secrets tells the story of India and Treasure, two girls from very different walks of life who happen to meet by chance and become the best of friends.

Inspired by the Jewish wartime heroine Anne Frank, they write diaries sharing their inner most thoughts and feelings.

Secrets begin to jump out of the pages of their diaries into real life when Treasure’s step-father turns against her and she runs away from home.

The girls begin to find themselves in deep trouble and Treasure, like her heroine, decides to hide. Suddenly their lives become a lot more complicated.

The show is adapted from the popular story from the best-selling author, whose books are the most borrowed from public libraries.

Jacqueline Wilson’s work is rooted firmly in reality as she writes about children and teenagers in today’s society and covers such issues as single parent families, fostering or bullying.

The cast includes Sarah-Lee Dicks, who plays India and Kerry Gooderson as Treasure who both starred in Jacqueline Wilson’s The Suitcase Kid last year.

Secrets has been adapted and directed for the stage by Vicky Ireland, one of Britain’s foremost directors of theatre for children and young people and is brought to the Lyceum by Watershed Productions and Polka Theatre.

The story touches on tough family issues and is a heart-warming adventure for ages nine and upwards to enjoy.

Jacqueline Wilson is one of Britain’s best-selling children’s authors and her book sales have topped 20 million.

Tickets are £9.50 – £15 and are available by calling the box office on 0114 249 6000 or by visiting www.sheffieldtheatres.co.uk.
